Amazon Rumoured to release Kindle Fire 2

Amazon is rumoured to be preparing a new larger 9″ Kindle Fire 2 tablet due for the Christmas period. No specifications have been announced as yet. The success of the original 7″ Kindle Fire tablet stands Amazon as the major competitor to Apples iPad, while Apple is rumoured to be preparing an iPad mini also of 7″ proportion to rival the Fire and lower priced Android tablets.
As yet there has been no indication of a UK release for the tablet, although Amazon is tipped to release a new Kindle e-reader this summer with front lighting added for night time reading, initial concerns are a drain on battery life.

Galaxy Tab 2 gets UK April launch

Samsung’s latest tablets, the Galaxy Tab 2, has finally received a launch date for the UK, with the tablets available at the end of April, delays caused by compatibility issues with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich moved the launch back from March.
The tab will be available in 7″ & 10.1″ sizes.

Amazon has started accepting pre orders for the new touch screen Kindle, the device is priced at £109 for WiFi & £169 for 3G.

Samsung Sandwich 4.0 announced!

The Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphone has finally had a confirmed date for the roll out of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, from 19th March, subject to approval from the network operators, users in the UK will be able to update.
It has taken over 6 months for the upgrade to be made available, this is ahead of the announcement of the Galaxy S3 which is believed to be coming soon which will rival the expected new iPhone this summer.

Crucial have released their new SSD hybrid system named “Adrenaline”, the 50gb SSD is married to existing hard drives using caching software. The system offers Superior speeds over a standard hard drive although not as fast as a pure SSD solution. The advantage comes in leaving Windows, software and files on the existing drive. The current price is £88.88.

So here’s whats new:
The name, quite simply “The New iPad”
New A5X quad core processor
New Retina Display – 3.1 million pixels
5mp iSight Camera, new optics and HD Video recording
Super fast 4G LTE networking, we’ll be waiting a while to make use of that in the UK!
Dictation, didn’t explain whether this was Siri as found in the iPhone 4S???

iPad 2 price drop to $399 (no UK pricing) and continue in the range.
New iOS 5.1 available later today
iLife, iWork and iPhoto apps available later today

Looks like the same casing available in Black or White!

iPad 3 announcement Wednesday

Apple is due to announce what is believed to be the iPad 3 this Wednesday at their San Francisco press conference 6pm GMT.

Multi Monitor Setup

After helping a client today with a multi monitor setup it was nice to receive an email this evening stating how happy she is and how its helping her complete her work. Although the modem has had to be repositioned which the cat isn’t too happy about, quite often found soaking up the heat!
