360 Elite is here!

As usual, USA gets the launch first, maybe 2-3 months ago infact (time flies…..), but for those of you who know your gaming you’ll have probably been waiting for this. And of course for those that don’t know heres what the new Xbox 360 Elite offers:
- Its black, is it an obvious dig at Sony and their black PS3? – Ours it better and now the same colour!
- The Hard Drive has increased from 20gb to 120gb!!!!! WOW thats bigger!
- It now has HDMI, the digital interface for High Definition
But what does all that mean?? Well the Hard Drive increase is ready for the TV & Movie download service Microsoft is launching in the UK later this year, already well established in the US, and in glorious High Def! Plus there’s more and more downloadable games and game content available through the 360 marketplace.
Xbox 360 has always output a High Def picture through either component cable or XVGA, and only the XVGA cable supporting full High Def resolution at 1080p, HDMI is the digital standard connection for all Plasma or LCD flat screen TV’s with most new sets offering 2 or even 3 HDMI ports. Plus with the add on HD-DVD drive sound and picture will now be available with far superior quality.
And the black look??? Well I’m not an anti PS3 person, in fact I own one, but only for watching Blu Ray High Def discs, and once the new Denon Blu Ray player is released later this year I’ll be saying good bye to the PS3! If you asked my opinion I’d say 360 is the choice every time and the Media Center networking is 5 star!
The only downside I’ve found for the Elite is the HD-DVD drive add on is still only available in original white although the black drives have been seen in photos on line given to Microsoft employees as part of bonus incentive!
