My Wii is glowing???

Posted by Simon Salvin on 01. Mar 2010 on Gaming

I’ve been sat on the sofa for the best part of the afternoon, it’s been a nice relaxing Sunday ( I wouldn’t want you to get the impression that I’m slobbing it mid week!). This morning I plugged in my Nintendo Wii, I checked the internet connection was working since this was the first time it had been switched on since moving house, it connected first time and offered a system update which I duly accepted, I then downloaded the BBC iPlayer from the Wii store which appears to be a more polished and purpose design for the Wii rather than the PS3 version which can be difficult to navigate. All was working fine so I turned off ready for lunch or brunch as it happened followed by the cup final. As I sat there all afternoon a blue glow kept distracting me, emitting from the slot loading disc drive of the Wii I wondered why the pulsating glow was drawing my attention?
A quick look online and the answer was quick to jump out at me, the glow is to alert you to Wii messages in the dashboard mail box. Turn on, read and delete, no more glow, and I’m ready for dinner followed by the ice hockey final!
