PS3 update to 2.36

Whilst on the subject of firmware updates (see previous post) I was greeted by a new update when turning on my PS3 at the weekend. As usual I agreed to the update and the download took around 5-10 minutes to complete.
This time however I have no idea what the update was for??? I may have written about an update coming soon a few weeks ago, it rings a bell, but a very distant one.
having taken a 20 second break from writing and a very quick dig around I’ve come up with this website:

which describes the update as a system stability update for select titles and lays the foundations for the next major update 2.40 coming soon.
As always I recommend you upgrade to the latest firmware, if you own a PS3, Wii or XBox 360, hook it up to the net and check for the latest update.
