Prime – Free trial
Posted by Simon Salvin on 05. Jun 2008 on InternetYou may have read my previous praise for amazon.co.uk, so while I think about it here’s some more!! Around a month ago we placed an order with amazon, on completing the order process we were offered a 1 month trial of their Prime service. I had previously read about this; £49 per year with next day delivery on all items ordered. Now at first I thought it was a bit of a useless offer seeing that they offer free super saver delivery on all orders over £15. But when there’s a free offer going I’m not one to turn it down. I didn’t realise that this offer includes orders at any price and over the last month I’ve been more than extremely happy with the next day Royal Mail Special Delivery before 1pm service.
You might not be a hurry to receive your goods and Super Saver will suffice, but if your impatient like me this is a great offer, just make sure you make the use of it, I certainly feel I’ve had my money’s worth over the last month, although I should feel that way as I haven’t paid for it, but joking aside I’ll certainly be making the payment when it comes up for renewal in the next few days.
You may also like to hear of amazon’s price promise. This isn’t widely advertised but worth knowing about, if at anytime within 30 days after your purchase from amazon the price is reduced, amazon will gladly refund the difference back to you. You can either send an email detailing the item, order number and price difference or you can call using a free phone number: 0800 279 6620, now that’s super service! I have read a number of forums where people have detailed the savings they have made ranging from £2 up to an amazing £49 price drop on a DVD player!!!
