New PCs

Looking to purchase a new PC?

Take a look at our guide below, then choose a relevant page from our drop down menu, Dell PC’s, Custom PC’s or Business PC’s.

So it’s your first PC or time for a replacement, what do you buy and how do you choose?

Well, desktop PC towers are in decline but they’re still a favourite of Simple PC and our customers, if you don’t need to replace your monitor just buy a new tower, if you do need a monitor then buying a Dell package makes sense.
Desktops can be wireless too, so you’re not restricted to the room where your router lives.
The new desktop PC trend is the all-in-one PC, monitor with touch screen technology and PC built in to one unit, look at the Dell Inspiron 2320, a full entertainment system with TV tuner, remote control, wireless keyboard & mouse and can be wall mounted.

New Windows 7 PC’s come with Microsoft Office Starter, featuring Word & Excel, great for basic letter writing and spreadsheets, but for the full featured Office experience you’ll need to upgrade, there’s 3 editions: Home & Student (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Home & Business (+ Outlook), Professional (+ Access, Publisher). Remember to factor in the cost of Office should you need the upgrade.

Your broadband package and equipment may need upgrading, talk to your ISP (internet Service Provider), most will provide a free router, and keep a note of your contract period, it’s important to speak to your ISP regularly to get the best deal.

You may need to upgrade your networking to ensure the internet is available throughout your house, whether that’s wired or wireless.

You may also want to buy a new printer, there’s great offers on printers all the time and to suit every budget, most printers are multi function devices which will scan, copy and even fax, and they’re wireless so multiple PC’s in the household can independently print.

Be realistic with costs, you can’t buy a PC, monitor, MS Office and a printer for £400 installed, we do our best to give you the best PC for your budget.
