Laptops
Laptops are a little bit more tricky, there’s a lot of small parts in a confined space, think of them as a sealed unit. We don’t mind fixing them, but we need a little more time, usually 7 days turnaround.
Software repairs are based on our standard times & pricing, please see above.
Hardware repairs are charged at £30 for our diagnostic fee, we’ll then give you a quote for the work which includes the diagnostic fee, if you’re happy for us to proceed you’ll pay the price quoted, or if you decide against the repair you’ll just pay the diagnostic fee.
Why do we charge this fee?
Most laptop repairs require the laptop to be disassembled to find the fault, this takes a lot of time and skill, our charge covers the time taken to do this whether you decide to accept the repair or not.
We have a dedicated technician who solely works with laptops, in most cases the laptop will need to be taken away for the diagnostic. For screen replacements we’ll be happy to quote you over the telephone.
