Above are 2 links to the news story that Microsoft is to scrap its Internet Security package Windows Live Onecare. The move is to come mid 2009 with the paid for subscription service being replaced with a FREE anti virus product currently code named Morro.
It’s a shame as I’ve used, supported and promoted the use of Onecare for the past 2 years and although the press given to the product has had mixed reviews I’ve found it to be a very competent solution.
The Equip subscription service featuring Onecare & Office 2007 is also to get the axe, the US market has been confirmed that they may keep their Office installation while the UK still awaits Microsoft‘s decision, will we be drawn the short straw as usual???
