PC Back up…
Simple Cube provides connection and back up for up to 10 PC’s, laptop or desktop, once the server is installed a small program is installed on each PC which communicates with the server, then a complete back up of each PC is performed, this includes Windows, all your programs and all the data – documents, emails, photos, music, everything. Then every night the server checks what’s changed and backs up the differences.
NEW! Back up to external Hard Drives, not only back up your shared files, photos, documents & music, but also your complete PC backups. Now you can protect your Home Server away from the home should disaster strike!
Restore…
Should your PC crash or run into problems, simply insert the restore disc, this locates the server and lists all your back up points, choose the back up you’d like to restore and the server restores your complete PC, Windows, programs and data, depending on size of data this can take between 30 minutes and 3 hours, your back up and running in no time without all the worry and hassle of reinstalling all those Windows updates, programs and wondering if you’ll ever see your data again.
Sharing…
Every connected PC has a ‘Launch Pad’ icon on their desktop giving access to a centrally stored group of folders on the Server, store all your photo’s, music and video’s in one central location and share them with all the family. For more sensitive data, work documents or personal files, easily grant access to only the PC’s you wish to gain access to the folder.
Windows Home Server 2011 also supports Macs running Mac OS X, run the LaunchPad on connected Macs, and utilize remote access.
Remote Access…
Simple Cube connects to the internet, so if you’re away from home you can access the server and all the files, create photo galleries and show your friends and family and even send data back to your server. Create a free, easy to remember web address to access your server, with secure password access and file encryption your data is safe.

Multimedia…
Simple Cube backs up up to 10 PC’s but you can also connect other multimedia equipment known as network media players or extenders, our favourite is Western Digitals HD TV Live Streamer, all the music, videos and photos can be accessed by your extender and played through your music system or viewed on your Television.
NEW! Windows Home Server 2011 is now DLNA 1.5 compatible out of the box, so there’s no more need for third party add-ins to get a first-class media sharing experience. For you Windows 7 users, Windows Home Server 2011 also supports Home Group-style media sharing, and it can stream a much wider range of media formats, while also offering on-the-fly transcoding for those times when a client can’t handle a particular format.
